The Birthday of Mr. P!!!!!

Jan 24
So, it was Andrew's birthday on Saturday. I had such a fun time secretively buying gifts and planning the activities of the day! And now I'm excited to blog about the entire thing!
To start the day off, I made him a delicious breakfast. It's a family tradition to eat waffles on a birthday - so we made some with whipped cream and strawberries, and buttermilk syrup.
Doesn't he look so excited!

Bacon, eggs, and waffles. YUM!!
After we ate breakfast, we opened gifts (Andrew couldn't wait any longer!!)
He got lots of history dvds - his mom gave him a series on the founding of America and the civil war, and my mom gave him a series on John Adams

He wanted a basketball so bad, so I caved and got him one. Doesn't he look so happy! :)
He had a basketball game that we went to, and after he played his little heart out, we went to Tucano's so we could EAT!
It was a blast! We went with my brother (it was his birthday a couple weeks ago), his wife, and my other brother (the one that designed the blog!) We ate SO much food, and I almost couldn't walk around. Luckily I have an incredible hubby who would have rolled me out to the car!
I finally bought an antenna so we can get local channels. Although we love spending time together, we get bored sometimes. So, we spent a little while trying to figure out how to actually get the local channels (apparently, the antenna wasn't pointed towards the transmittor - because it wasn't working very well). My brother and Andrew had fun looking for channels with sports on them...maybe I should have thought twice before buying the antenna!
We ended the night by going to Comedy Sportz, a local improv comedy club. My best friend is the manager, so she can get us in for free! It wasn't the funniest show I've ever been to, but we had a lot of fun, and there were some funny one-liners.
We had cake the next day, and someday I'll post pics and recipe (Salted Caramel Cake - can you say delicious?!)

Anyway - I hope Andrew had a good birthday - he deserves it. And as my last birthday gift to him, here's 10 reasons I ABSOLUTELY love Andrew Potter:

10. He takes the garbage out for me.
9. He bought me a super cute pair of red wedges.
8. He bought a baseball bat that he has beside our bed so I would feel safe at night
7. He loves history - kinda nerdy, but I think it's super cute!
6. He's incredibly handsome
5. He loves my cooking, and tells me so every time I cook
4. He's so patient with me, puts up with my stupid mistakes, and loves me in spite of them!
3. He's hilarious - he makes me laugh all the time
2. And, he thinks I'm funny too
1. He treats me like a queen

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Burnsy!!!

The past 3 months (ish)...

Jan 12
Yes, I know. I created a blog a long time ago, and then I did nothing for a long time. But, finally I'm catchin' up. I found out my computer has an SD card reader! Best.news.ever! So, I blogged about the wedding...so fun! Nothing too eventful after that. Going to school and being married. That's about it.
I think I had some pics on my camera that would have been helpful in reminding me what we've been doing. Unfortunately, I took my camera with us when we hiked a waterfall - not next to a waterfall - in a waterfall. Needless to say, it doesn't work anymore.
The most eventful thing that happened last semester (not counting our honeymoon and Christmas) was Thanksgiving. After days of deliberation, we decided not to go anywhere. We didn't have any breaks after our wedding, and we thought 3 days of no school would be a relaxing vacation. We did want to have a nice Thanksgiving dinner, which we did,  and now we share some pictures from our little feast.

This is our thanksgiving feast: We had rolls (below - they were huge!)  Mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole,  green bean casserole, and stuffing. Yum!

Our massive rolls. I found the recipe on pinterest - supposedly they're supposed to be  texas roadhouse copycat rolls . In our opinions, they're not as good...
I made little place settings. Kind of lame - but I didn't think to do it until right before dinner. Not enough time to allow the creative juices to flow

Happy Thanksgiving (a couple months late)!

A highlight from Thanksgiving (other than the fabulous meal): Andrew's sister came to visit! Which was more than a blast! We somehow fit 4 extra people into our little home, but it was well worth it. We loved spending time with them. Although they didn't stay long, we enjoyed playing host. Plus, they have the most adorable little boys ever! Unfortunately, we didn't take any pictures to share. But note... if anyone comes to visit in the future (and we beg you, please come visit!!!!) we will take pictures and proudly display them on our blog. Maybe Ashley should come visit again....

HONEYMOON:
Due to our mid-semester wedding, we didn't have time to go on our honeymoon right after we got married. Instead we waited until the end of the semester and went at the end of finals week. And I loved that we did it after we'd been married for a little bit. For anyone planning a wedding....consider it.
So, we decided to go on a cruise for our honeymoon. A great idea....right? We didn't have to cook for ourselves or clean up after ourselves. And all the entertainment was provided. It was a blast, even though I experienced a little sea sickness..... Anyway - here are some pictures.
On my way onto the cruise ship

Eating in the dining room. So much food!
Before the formal night. Our room was tiny!
 JAMAICA:
Our first stop was Jamaica. It was rainy and (kinda) cold day. We found a taxi driver to take us around. We decided to go up to a waterfall - Dunn's River Falls. We docked in Falmouth, so we had a little tour of the town. Again, some pictures:

Having fun in Dunn's River Falls. You actually climb up the rocks - the water was pretty cold!

An old church in Falmouth

Our taxi driver

GRAND CAYMAN:
The second stop on our  cruise was the Cayman Islands. It was GORGEOUS!!!! Blue skies and warm weather. Great way to spend Christmas vacation! In the sun! We just went to the beach and played in the water and rested on the beach. Here are the pictures:

Andrew was so excited!

Can't figure out how to rotate these. Oops!
COZUMEL, MEXICO
The last stop in our cruise was Mexico. It was a beautiful and sunny day! We went to the beach and relaxed in the sand and played in the ocean. We decided it'd be fun to rent a jet ski - I went out with Andrew for a little bit, but he enjoyed it a lot more than I did so I let him do it by himself for a while. Then we got an ATV and went on a little course they had by the beach. It was a blast! We decided to splurge since it was our last excursion and we went to a restaurant. We ordered some coke and fajitas - SO delicious! Andrew was also very excited to practice his Spanish. We were sad to get back on the cruise boat - we loved the sun and the sand...and the Mexican food. Here are the pics:
Yep, that's our cruise boat. And I'm not entirely sure what kind of face I'm making...

Playin' in the beautiful ocean!

ATVing - Andrew thinks he's pretty cool

We had a little tour guide

This is what we ate at the restaurant. It was DELISH, but so much food! (You'd think by then my stomach would be big enough to hold all that, what with the insane amounts of food I was eating on the cruise boat!)

Yep, sunburned and lovin' it!

So - that was our honeymoon. We had a blast (even though I did get a little sea sick). Then it was back to the cold and snow!!
We spent Christmas with lots of family. It was so much fun!! We really had an enjoyable break, nice and relaxing! Now we're back in school, with all the busyness that brings! And that's it...the past three months (or so).

Our Wedding. October 8, 2011

Jan 05
So, we finally got the CD with all of our wedding pictures on it, so here it is. We love all of them. Our photographer, Sarah Rockwood, did an incredible job! I'm so pleased! It was the best day of my life, the day I was sealed to the man I love. And now I get to be with him forever. Lucky me!!! Enjoy the pictures!

Coming out of the temple - can you tell that we're pretty excited?!?

With my maid of honor - Shayla Beth Matthews !
